Sketchbooks and Inspiration

Sketchbooks form a way of making records of visual subjects, such as those I keep on holiday and also places where I can experiment with new ideas. I try not to make them too serious and they may well contain lists of shopping and things to do. I am happiest working with pen, ink and colour. I love to scribble a line quickly, restating it and finding a better one as I go, I find this gives me a great freedom. I try to find the essence of the subject not necessarily a perfect representation.
